Who knew that we woud revisit something similar to a Freshman 15? Do not fall prey to the potential of a Quarantine 15. Over the past few weeks, we have entered in to a new normal where we are all working from home, cannot remember what day it is, avoid people at all costs, and use ZOOM for social interaction.
Meme’s are storming across social media about the quarantine15.
We are all wondering how can we avoid eating all of my quarantine snacks in the next few days? My first recommendation? Rearrange your environment. Place the healthy snacks forward in your cabinets and refrigerators and move the unhealthy snacks to an “out of sight” place. Make it inconvenient for you to grab the unhealthy snacks. Another quick tip is allow your children to choose their 3-4 snacks for the day, place them in a plastic container and the child can choose when to eat his/her snacks for the day. They may choose to eat them all before lunch, or may choose to spread them throughout the day. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. This will help limits and your budget.
I wanted to help you make the healthy choice next time you take the dreaded trip to the grocery store or do not forget the option of grocery store delivery or pick up. The positive side? The healthy snacks are still remaining on store shelves so you should have plenty to choose from.
- Individual packets of JIF Natural Peanut butter or any natural nut butter
- Beef Jerky
- RX bars or protein bar of choice
- Yogurt cups
- Tuna Packets
- Dried Fruit
- Raw veggies with hummus
- Hard boiled eggs
Also, here’s a fantastic grocery list so hopefully you will remain stocked with the good snacks for quite some time. Not sure how to manage all this madness and needing a little “hand holding” for food? I still have 4 spots left for April for my virtual accountability program that is paired with a nutrition consult and personalized meal plan for you. Now let’s beat this Quarantine 15!
