If you dream doesn’t scare you, it’s too small.- Mark Batterson
One of my favorite quotes seems appropriate as we honor Martin Luther King Jr. today.
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream that people “will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” And with this vision, he led nonviolent, peaceful marches based on his Christian beliefs. He made his vision plain so all could understand. And by following his dream, he advanced civil rights in the United States. Yet there is still much to be done to bring this dream to complete fruition. That’s where we come in. What does God ask of you?
He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal and your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously-take God seriously-Micah 6:8
Do so in all your dealings with all people, loving all as God loves you, regardless of skin color. Do it today and every day in memory of a man who had a dream that still begs to come true.
What is your dream for your future and your lifestyle? Is it to see your grandkids grow up? Is it to keep up with your son at baseball practice? Attend all dance recitals without fatigue? Each day you make a choice to chase the dreams you have. As 2017 is just beginning, dream on, dreamer. What nutrition and lifestyle change can you make so that your impact on the world is felt in the hands of others
