Tip 1: Shop Early, Before the crowd
Getting 30 minutes of cardio or spending 30 minutes at the grocery store at 4:45 AM is sometimes a choice for me. Typically, I’m going to choose the grocery store trip because guess what?! No one shops for groceries at the Walmart neighborhood market at 4:45 in the morning. I am in and out and unloaded at home in a grand total of 30 minutes.
Tip 2: Plan out a weekly menu (…or have me do that for you)
I consistently eat the same diet for seven days before I change something on my menu. Consistency is key to see a true transformation. For me, it makes sense for me to make one grocery store trip per week.
Tip 3: Shop the outside aisles
If you take notice of the layout of a grocery store, you will notice that the outside aisles are home to the nutrition-dense fresh foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and dairy. It is around these food items that you will want to plan your meal. The foods that are pre-packaged in cans and boxes found in the center aisles are those convenience foods that advertisers tempt you to buy. Keep in mind that some manufacturers of food products want your dollar and do not take responsibility for your health.
To all of you working towards your goals, I’m right there with you!
