For our last fast food series restaurant, here is one of my favorites! Chipotle is one of the healthier fast food choices since they use fresh ingredients and no artificial additives. I love walking in to see all the peppers being chopped up. This is pretty impressive for a fast food restaurant, but you still have to be careful with your food choices and portion sizes. Let’s look at some healthy options you can get the next time you go to Chipotle.
Chicken burrito bowl
When choosing this option, you want to aim for a scoop of chicken, black beans, fajita vegetables, add lettuce, tomato salsa, and a half portion of guacamole (if you like). Burrito bowls are a delicious way to get in your protein, carbs, fats, and vegetables in one meal.
Chicken, veggie, and pinto bean salad
For this option, you want to start with a romaine lettuce base. You can add a scoop of protein such as chicken or steak, two scoops of the fajita vegetables, and a scoop of pinto beans or black beans with tomato salsa. This is a well-balanced meal and an excellent choice for a salad option.
Steak and veggie soft tacos
If you are craving some tacos and want to keep it simple, try 2 or 3 soft corn tortilla tacos from Chipotle. You can add in a scoop of chicken or steak with desired vegetables and lettuce topping them off with a little bit of cheese and tomato salsa.
It is all about balancing your protein, fat, carb, and vegetables during your meals. Chipotle has a variety of options when it comes to balancing meals and healthy food choices. I encourage you to try one of these options during your next Chipotle visit!
