What are healthy options at Chick-fil-A?

Good news, friends: you do not have to give up your beloved Chick-fil-A to eat healthily. Well, unless it's Sunday of course…

In this series, we have discussed tips to keep in mind while eating fast food, but what do those healthy options look like?  We will dive into some healthier options from the fast food restaurant most all of us love (especially here in the south). Check out these five different options to get at Chick-fil-A and why they are nutritious and not just delicious:

1.     Egg White Grill

This is a go-to breakfast option for me! I am telling you, this one is good. The egg white grill has only 290 calories and roughly 25 grams of protein. This lower-calorie and higher protein breakfast meal cannot be beaten.

2.     Grilled Chicken Nuggets

The grilled chicken nuggets contain 17 calories per nugget and are one of the healthiest options on the menu.  The 6-count grilled nuggets consist of 20 grams of protein, and not to mention, they are delicious too.

3.     The Market Salad

While Chick-fil-A has three different salad options, the market salad is the healthiest option to order. To optimize this healthy option, try it with a grilled filet and light Italian dressing to add protein and flavor. This salad contains only 250 calories and 16 grams of carbs.

4.     Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap

If you want some protein, this wrap is the way to go. The grilled chicken cool wrap includes 37 grams of protein with 350 calories. Yeah, you heard that right, 27 grams of protein! This wrap gives you an adequate amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fats, which makes it a great healthier option from the menu.

5.     Fruit cup or Kale Crunch Side

Yes, I know the waffle fries are probably part of why you go to Chick-fil-A, but if you are looking to substitute a healthier side option, the fruit cup or kale superfood side is the option looking for. But remember, treating yourself with those waffle fries every once in a while will not set back your nutrition and fitness goals if eaten in moderation.

If you find yourself having a hard time picking healthier options at Chick-fil-A, be sure to keep this list handy. You do not have to completely restrict your favorite fast food restaurants to achieve your goals. It is all about balancing and focusing on incorporating healthier options and eating habits into your everyday lifestyle. Being restrictive is not sustainable and will not be efficient at helping you achieve your goals with your nutrition. If you struggle to choose healthy options that fit your specific needs and goals, I would love to connect with you
